Bishopston Comprehensive School received a Welsh Secondary Schools Award, with pupils from the year 10 GCSE drama class performing a special play about the importance of good communications.

St Christopher's Special School in North Wales has been involved in Key Skills for over 5 years. The school began with a small development project called 'Why Bother' introducing students to citizenship issues through communication key skills. Since then the commitment to key skills has continued to grow and expand. St Christopher's is an example of a fully embedded model of key skills across the school. All staff (including Teaching Assistants ) are actively involved and express support for key skills. There is ample evidence of the development of skills across the whole age and ability range of the school. Some pupils are currently working towards key skills level 2.

The College Ystrad Mynach won the UK Skills Challenge 2006 Competition for Key Skills.  Students from the BTEC National Diploma in Business competed for the award.  Their submission focused on what Key Skills are and their role in work, learning and life.
