The final report of the external evaluation of the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification (WBQ) Pilot, which has been understaken by the Centre for Developing and Evaluating Lifelong Learning (CDELL), at the University of Nottingham.  The report provides strong evidence of the value of Key Skills.  More.

Involving over 300 Y9 pupils and 25 teachers working in different specialist areas.  Following a 2 hour introductory session where key skills were used and higlighted, the pupils worked in groups over the next two days to develop a piece of work which was then presented to the year group.  The groups worked through the mediums of art, music, technology, drama etc to produce their final piece developing key skills at level 1 and 2 in Communication (English and Welsh), WWO, PS, AoN and ICT. 

However good your key skills programme is there is always room for improvement.  Key Skills Support is pleased to offer Key Skills providers the opportunity to pilot a new self-assessment and action planning tool linked to the ESTYN Common Inspection Framework.
