Dysg joined the Welsh Assembly Government on 1st April 2006. Dysg is a division within the Department of Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DELLS), focussing on improving the quality of teaching and learning in the post-14 education and training sector. Previously, Dysg was the Welsh operation of the Learning and Skills Development Agency (LSDA).
- Dysg runs a number of networks and conferences focussed on improving the provision of post-14 learning through sharing knowledge and skills amongst practitioners, policy makers and other stakeholders. More.
- Through the Performance Improvement Adviser project, Dysg provides targeted consultancy, training and mentoring support to providers. More.
- Dysg runs Key Skills Support Programmes, which aim to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across all post-14 key skills programmes in schools, FE and WBL. More.
- Dysg manages the Self-assessment and action planning support programme of training, which enables post-16 providers to undertake effective self-assessment and action planning. More.
- Dysg supports sharing and transfer of knowledge through a weekly e-newsletter, maintaining a blog, web publishing of research and production of a quarterly journal in order to provide up-to-date information on post-14 education and training developments in Wales and England.
- Dysg undertakes specific research projects and reviews that meet the short- and longer-term needs of the Welsh Assembly Government. More.
